RIGATHON is one of the biggest hackathons witnessed by Kumaraguru Institutions where students with exceptional technical skills gather under one roof to learn and grow in a competitive environment with professional assistance. Walking past the years, our previous editions of Rigathon namely Rover hackathon and Climathon  attracted more than 500 technocrats across the country!

 WHAT IS THE THIRD INSTALLMENT OF RIGATHON?

 MOTIVE OF THE THEME:

OUR COUNTRY has not yet tapped into the true potential of the agriculture sector. That is precisely why we have chosen ‘Innovative Solutions for Effectual Agriculture’ to be the theme for this edition of RIGATHON.

DIFFICULTIES

MACHINERIES IN AGRICULTURE

·       More labour intensive.

·       Lack of communication and infrastructure.

·       The machines are not affordable.

AUTOMATED IRRIGATION

·       Re-irrigation

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

·       Lack of practical knowledge among farmers.

·       High cost of ITC infrastructure.

DRONES

·       Accurate and precise crop information

FOOD PROCESSING AND LOGISTIC TECHNOLOGY

 

·       Expensive  technological equipment.

·       Inefficient transportation facilities.

·       Storage constraints.

·       Greater demand for high-value commodities.

  

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

        Students from the field of science and technology (pursuing B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/M.Sc/Ph.D) from all over India are eligible to participate

        Age limit is from 17 to 25

        Inquisitive explorers with the potential to tackle real world challenges and can come up with spontaneous ideas

        Preferences will be given to clarity, scale of impact and complexity of the ideas.

        We will refer to you as:

 

Ideator individual

If you are an individual with ideas but no technical team to support you.

Executor individual

If you are an individual  having a strong skillset and the flexibility to adapt with a team.

Ideated team

If you are a team with ideator and executors.

 

SELECTION PROCESS

        The entire selection process is based on the application form.

Ideator

Selection will be based upon a brief description about the idea

Executor

Selection will be completely based on their technical skill set

Teams

A team would ideally require an ideator,3 executors and a person who is able to explain and present the  concept. They are also selected based on the novelty of their idea.

A telephonic interview might be conducted later if required.

PRE - EVENT FLOW

1.  First level of screening will be based on the registration forms.

2.  Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through mail.

3.  Payment and confirmation of participation has to be done on or before 22nd of February.

 

EVENT FLOW

1.  The executor can integrate themselves with any team according to the ideas pitched by the ideator- individual. He/she can also combine based on the matching percentile of his/her skillset with the ideator individual.

2.  If any executor is left out, they will be helped by the RIGATHON crew for mapping with teams based on their skill sets.

3.  The ideator- teams can also attend the pitching sessions of the ideator- individual.

 

TIME LINE

1.  Feb 5   - Registrations begin

2.  Feb 25 - Last date for registration

3.  Feb 26 - Shortlisted participants will receive mail

4.    Feb 27 - Final date for payment
